Scotland - Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 – now in force

This new legislation gives additional protection to tenants from eviction during the outbreak by increasing the notice period a landlord must give a tenant.

The Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 has now come into force. The Act has specific provisions to prevent private and social tenants from eviction during the current outbreak by extending the notice period landlords must give a tenant when ending a tenancy.

The updated guidance includes information on these changes and it is important that you read this.

The government has also updated all the guidance including on when to do safety checks and for the approach to gas certificates. They will continue to update all guidance on a regular basis.
